5 sections to include on your church website

Think of your church website as more than an informative resource to connect with members. It's also a fun way to give potential visitors a sneak peek inside your congregation to show how God is at work in your church. Here are five essential sections for an engaging church website.

1. Worship types and times
Is your worship traditional, contemporary or blended? By giving guests an idea of what they can expect, you'll make them feel more comfortable and more likely to stop by for a visit. It's a great idea to list your worship times prominently on the front page of your site so the information is easily accessible.

2. Contact us
Make it easy for everyone to get in touch with you. Display your church's physical address, email address, phone number and links to any social media accounts.

3. Meet the staff
Church isn't a building. It's the people! Introduce yourselves to visitors before you even get a chance to say hello with a staff profile. Create a short bio or give it a punch of personality by ending with a fun question—like what's one interesting tidbit most people would be surprised to learn about you? Members will enjoy this feature as well. It creates new space for conversation.

4. Outreach opportunities
Do you have an upcoming or ongoing outreach program? What are your church's mission priorities? Invite the community and members alike to get involved in making a difference. Display inspiring and fun photos from these events.

5. Sermons
Post your pastor's sermons for those who can't make it to the pew. This is a welcome resource for those who are sick, homebound or for students away at school. Potential visitors can use this section to get an even better feel for your church to see if it's a good fit for what they're seeking.
