Rethink Church - Get your congregation involved

Why and How to Involve Your Congregation

Eight years ago, The United Methodist Church introduced the “Open hearts” welcoming and advertising campaign. The result was phenomenal—increasing awareness of the denomination and welcoming newcomers.

Now we are taking the campaign to the next level, redefining the church experience beyond the church doors and inviting people to become engaged in the world. “Rethink Church” aims to show seekers of spiritual meaning that in United Methodism’s mission of world transformation, they may find hope.

Prepare Your Congregation

The single most important way to ready your congregation to embark on the “Rethink Church” journey is to start the conversation.

Invite members to engage in dialogue about what this churchwide effort could mean for your faith life. “Rethink Church” is a call to action for all congregations to embrace the Wesleyan way of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
