“Welcoming Ministry 100" (WL100) helps individuals expand their knowledge and skills with welcoming and prepares them to lead local churches in establishing and maintaining a dynamic ministry of welcoming and radical hospitality.
The three-part, online course allows learners to complete the six-week schedule at their own pace, at their convenience. Learners read information, explore multimedia materials, engage in discussion forums, complete assignments, take quizzes and share feedback. United Methodist ministers facilitate online discussions and respond to learners’ activities.
To successfully complete the course, participants spend 1-2 hours per week depending upon how in depth they go with assignments and whether or not they work offline with a welcoming ministry team. Upon successful completion, learners are awarded .5 SACEM CEU.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

Identify and enlist team members for welcoming ministry in local congregations

Lead opportunities for congregations to assess welcoming strengths and weaknesses

Identify what their church is known for and how to reach out to the local community
