United Methodism 101

“United Methodism 101” (UM101) is a free, basic online course designed for new United Methodists and anyone wanting to know more about the denomination, as well as long-time United Methodists who would like to check their basic knowledge of the church. Each of the four modules in this course contains many interactive features and takes about one hour to complete at the participant's leisure.

Course Dates:
The course begins the first Wednesday of alternating months from February through December, and each session is open for enrollment for six weeks. The 2009 schedule includes:

  • October 7–November 18
  • December 2–January 13 (2010)

How to Register:
Registration opens the same day the course session begins and remains open throughout the session.  To register during an ongoing session, visit our Online Learning Center and select “United Methodism 101” from the United Methodist Basics category. If you are a returning online learner, enter your username and password on the left side of the login page. If you are a new online learner, complete the brief registration form on the right side of the login page, and click “register.”
