Since Typhoon Haiyan (known regionally as Yolanda) hit the Philippines Nov. 8, 2013, United Methodist Communications and its partners have been working to help restore communications in the disaster area.
Detroit’s Renaissance District hosted a city-wide event to address the rising food insecurities. 38% of all households with children suffer food insecurities. Over 1,000 volunteers joined hands to collect and distribute over 17,000 meals.

This four-week, lectionary-based series will guide you through contemplating ancient Scriptures, delving into Christmas traditions and relating to transformative experiences of Christ’s birth through out humanity. The series challenges us to go outside the box to find those forgotten, ignored or turned away from life’s inns, so we may welcome all.
