Whether it’s a website, software, live streaming or hardware for local congregations or for overseas missions, TechShop, a division of United Methodist Communications, is one-stop shopping for churches and their ministries, providing technology tools needed to succeed.

TechShop offers popular software including Microsoft, Adobe and other office and design software, with many items offered at discounts up to 80 percent off retail prices. Church management and financial solutions software, including the latest versions of QuickBooks and Quicken, makes it easy for churches to handle expenses or view checking, savings, loan and investment accounts in one place. Logos software, also available at TechShop, can reduce the time, expense and risks associated with church administration regardless of church size, as well as handle member record keeping and child check-in, when needed.

Dell, HP, CDW and the Apple Store offer charity discounts for laptops, tablets, desktops, printers and other accessories. Visit the Techshop website for details.

United Methodist Communications offers web hosting, using United Methodist templates, beginning at $5 per month. If you want to be more creative, you can devise customized layouts with easy-to-learn WordPress CMS or choose from a variety of templates and add-ons for only $19 per month. Regardless of the website, free content is always available from United Methodist Communications by subscribing to the United Methodist News Service RSS feed or UMC.org RSS feed.

TechShop offers two other website alternatives, E-Zekiel and OurChurch.com. Each provides design options that include United Methodist templates and easy-to-use content management systems for developing and updating.

Many church leaders desire to provide live streaming of church services, which is made simple and affordable with myUMClive.com. Whether using a computer, smartphone or tablet, viewers can watch live video of worship services via a player embedded on the church’s website.

There’s an app for that! Reach your church members where they live – on their phones – with a customized app. TechShop can help churches deliver news, calendars, video, social media, messaging and event forms through a mobile app designed specifically for their congregation.

TechShop can also help churches support overseas missions, including disaster relief, by offering rugged, low-wattage computers, printers, LCD projectors, solar chargers and other equipment suitable for ministries in less developed areas of the world. Inconsistent electrical service, high humidity, dust, non-existent Internet service can cripple digital communications, so we’ve assembled and certified a group of products that are cost-efficient, sustainable and appropriate for a rigorous environment.
