Instagram basics: Content ideas for local churches
Now that you’ve set up your account, let’s cover a few ideas for content.
Instagram focuses on the visual, so take advantage of that and let your personality shine!
Feature staff, volunteers and members
Sometimes seekers have a generalized, stereotypical idea of church. With Instagram, you can humanize your congregation. So, how do you do that? Consider featuring church staff, volunteers and members who are willing to share their testimonies.
Give a glimpse of what it’s like to attend a service or an outreach event. Promote your service times, ministry series and upcoming events like VBS.
Bible verse memes
Another idea? Overlay text from a Bible verse or hymn on a pretty photo. Ask a volunteer who is PhotoShop savvy to help you create these graphics, or check out Canva - a website where you can find free stock photos and a wide variety of fonts to easily design your own.
