East Ohio Conference local church gives $14,000 to establish a communication center in the Ivory Coast.
The East Shore United Methodist Church – Euclid, Ohio, donated $14,000 for the establishment of a conference communications center in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. This gift was made by the church’s Missions Committee thanks to the Bill and Arlene LeSuer International Mission Fund. East Shore Church is elated about the possibility of getting in at the ground level regarding the development of a communications center that will help to transform the lives of the people of the Ivory Coast. There is a genuine sense of excitement as to what can happen through this gift.
The simple biblical mandate is to get the word out! Through the establishment of this communications center the United Methodist Church will be a greater resource as the people of the Ivory Coast endure the civil war and address health and social issues such as the AIDS crisis.
“We recognize that we have been incredibly blessed and are thrilled by the opportunity to partner with our Methodist Sisters and Brothers of the Ivory Coast. We believe that God is doing a new thing and want to be a part of the excitement. This gift simply represents a tangible way that the Good News of Jesus Christ can be spread and lives transformed.”
