Electronic media and technology
Just as John Wesley used the popular media of his day to communicate the Gospel-preaching, songs and pamphlets-we also utilize current forms of media and technology to carry out the mission and ministry of the church. Internet, video, television and technology are vital tools for telling the story of the church in today's society.
Many people think that Communications Ministry is just about the TV ads, but there's much more to this effort. The ministry's comprehensive approach involves five major components that work together to address a world in need of grace with messages about God's love:
- National Advertising,
- Local Advertising through Matching Grants,
- and Web initiatives related to the advertising and resources of Igniting Ministry.
Through these components, Igniting Ministry offers ideas, tools and resources to support churches in a complete lifestyle that invites, welcomes and includes newcomers, no matter the size or setting of the congregation.
